Studio Roeper Conference Tables
Studio Roeper’s finely crafted luxury furniture is inspired by Italian Renaissance art and architecture, Arts and Crafts artisanship and Art Deco style. Its dynamic work is popular among the world’s leading interior designers, architects and boutique hotel brands.
The Napa Valley, California-based company was established in 2003 by German-born designer Florian Roeper, who graduated that same year from San Francisco’s California College of Arts and Crafts (now California College of the Arts) with a BFA in furniture and sculpture.
Following an apprenticeship with master woodworker Al Garvey, Roeper created a line of unique, handcrafted pieces for home use that were not only artistic but functional. This work informed Studio Roeper’s signature elegance and minimalist appeal.
Many of the company’s furnishings reflect Roeper’s interest in juxtaposing materials in his designs. For instance, locally sourced hardwoods from Northern California and metals such as bronze are integrated into sophisticated dining room tables, conference tables and coffee tables. Roeper explains, “The style is contemporary, like a warm contemporary, because we’re using a lot of wood — we love to use walnut and love to use bronze. Just the material and the colors alone are warm and accessible.”
In addition to furniture, Studio Roeper produces a variety of contemporary wall art and sculptures made with epoxy resin, lacquer, gold leaf, copper and ebonized and patinated woods. Several of these works, such as “Papillon Noir,” explore the complex relationship between humans and nature.
Since its establishment, Studio Roeper has received commissions from notable clients including Louis Vuitton, Peter Marino Architect, Christian Dior and Four Seasons Hotels.
