White Straw Raffia Trim Novelty Hat With Strawberries, 1950's
About the Item
A blast from the 1950's Floridian past ... a vanilla white straw hat with a raffia trimmed brim and velvet decorations including strawberries and miniature corn cobs accented by pearl beads. Novelty hats are a fun way to add a vintage touch to a Summer wardrobe and are equally amusing as decor at a beach cottage. This one is by 'It's a Buddy! of Florida' and shares the same wit and whimsy as the Midas of Miami brand.
CONDITION
Good vintage condition with some signs of age and use. The strawberries are missing some of their pearl 'seeds' and the red velvet ribbon band shows some spotting and may be missing a bow. The interior grosgrain rim is discolored and there are some dark spots at the crown though overall the hat has a clean appearance. Please see photographs 9, 10 and 12 for a closer look at these issues.
MEASUREMENTS
The inner rim measures 21.25" circumference. The brim is 3.5" deep including the raffia trim. The crown has a 4" rise with 7.25" to the center.
