Hermès 'Balade Oceane' 90cm Silk Twill Scarf by Julie Abade, 1999. "Balade Oceane" or French for "Ocean Ride" was originally designed in 1999 and was never re-issued, making this piece an original edition. Handcrafted in France to the highest luxury standards, Hermès scarves are true wearable pieces of art that take 18 months to create from start to finish with over 750 artisan hours into each scarf design. This extremely popular and highly sought after design was made by famous contemporary Hermès artist, Julia Abade who was responsible for many iconic designs such as "Coaching" and "Kosmina". Originally issued in 1999, the design of the "Balade Oceane" was inspired by the Greek God Aphrodite being carried by a swan chariot within a nautical compass shape flanked by a ship border. This particular scarf featuring close up details of the motif in a neutral coloration with a black border making it a versatile and stylish piece. This scarf is in great condition with and plump hand rolled edges. Full condition report and specifications listed below: Measures: 35" H x 35" L Condition: GRADE: 2.
