A Net embroidered Stole with floss-silk - India for export Western Circa 1830

About the Item

Circa 1825 India For export to Europe Rare Shawl or stole made of cotton tulle embroidered floss-silk made in Delhi at the beginning of the nineteenth century for fashion in Europe around 1820/1830. Inner edge in very fine patterns of flowers. Extremity decorated with two rows of floral botehs and fashionable harlequined fringes around 1825 in France. Reversible embroidery with strong polychromy on fine cotton tulle. Excellent condition of color and conservation. Dimensions: 241 cm x 57 cm and 7 cm of fringes Company of the British Indies who exported in the 19th century (before 1855) these rare and beautiful stoles to adorn the dresses of the elegant high-waisted between 1815 and 1825. Document exceptional by its freshness. Excellent condition.
