Fortuny-Inspired Painted Velvet Fringed Piano Shawl Wrap Stole–36” x 38”, 1920s
About the Item
A sinfully luxurious textile small enough to be worn around the shoulders without bulk, but also large enough to lay on a table or piano. Clearly inspired by the work of Gallenga and Fortuny in the same decade, this shawl features rich, muted colors and sublime workmanship including dramatic 20” silk tassel fringe around the entire perimeter.
Silk velvet piano shawl with 20” tassel fringe around full perimeter; black ground with hand painted flowers in shades of purple-pewter, green, silver, ochre and copper.
