About the Item
Presenting a knit dress that debuted on the Gianni Versace Spring/Summer 1998 runway on Shalom Harlow and on Erin O'Conner in the ad campaign shot by Richard Avedon. Also captured on Gisele Bündchen by Mario Testino for the "Sexy" editorial in the May 1998 issue of Allure Magazine. The brand's first show after the loss of Gianni, for which Donatella received a standing ovation. This collection featured many of Gianni's design staples with a Donatella spin and this dress is no exception. The form-hugging knit fabric highlights the curves of the body in true Gianni form but the design of the dress is simple, almost minimalistic, a contrast to the flamboyant work that made Gianni famous.
