Akira Isogawa Pink Cocktail Dress with Oversize Jewel Cummerbund Bow – M, 1980s

Though it’s almost a half century old, this cocktail dress—with its oversize front bow, puffed shoulders and cinched waist—could have walked off the spring runway. Created by one of fashion's most beloved international designers at the birth of his career, it is a perfect mother-of-the-bride dress, brunch frock or cocktail dress with extraordinary sparkle and brilliant color. Long sleeve cocktail dress with plunging front neckline, puffed shoulders, tapered sleeves and wide taffeta cummerbund waist; oversize center waist bow with pavé rhinestone “knot.” Front nylon zipper closure with 1 ½” rhinestone zipper pull; three metal tabs and hidden snaps beneath secure bow to dress front. Hand-finished zipper, hem and wrists; piped neckline and front kick pleat.
