Art Deco Silver and Blue Lame Wrap
About the Item
Art Deco Silver and Blue Lame Wrap Gown, originally destined for the boudoir, but, works wonderfully as an evening coat. Made from silky metallic French lame, this Hollywood styled topper, has a beautiful silvery leaf pattern embedded onto an aqua blue ground. The metal in the lame has oxidized slightly for that wonderful patina associated with period lames, which are heavier and drape/fall differently because of the actual metal threads incorporated into the textiles.
There are very strong shoulders with large tucked, leg of mutton sleeves which narrow to self cuffs at the wrist. The fitted waist is buttoned on one side and tied inside like a robe. A very full cut circle skirt falls from the waist to the floor. 1930's Hollywood glamour. USA. Excellent condition.
