Early 20th C. Export Kimono
Liberty of London advertised and sold theses types of Kimono
from the 1880s to the early 1900s. These hand embroidered robes were among the first garments made in the Orient, specifically Japan, solely for export to Europe. This one has a Christie's of London auction tag, but no Liberty of London label. Garments of these kinds can be seen in portraits of women of the era.
