About the Item
Though his designs do not enjoy the name recognition as those of Dior or Balmain, Daniel Werlé created breathtaking clothing for Hollywood actresses like Barbara Stanwyk, Gloria Swanson and Loretta Young. His commitment to exacting details, unusual shapes and fine materials is reflected in this exquisite ballerina dress, whose softly draped neckline is brilliantly contrasted with an angular standaway bib bodice and 26-foot skirt. And better still, pockets!

Portrait collar ballerina dress with draped chiffon neckline that transforms into a free-hanging sash knotted at the low back. Inverted triangle standaway bodice dotted with decorative buttons along top edge; curving princess bodice seams front and back. Plunging back and full, tea length skirt with attached double crinoline beneath. Left side hand-finished metal zipper with top hook and eye; on seam pockets both sides.
