Extraordinary hand coloured celluoid frame and moire silk 'rose' handbag, French
About the Item
A very rare and outstanding yellow silk moire handbag, topped with a beautiful and intact hand painted celluloid 'rose', with green leaves. Handbags with these highly decorative and eye catching rose motifs are rare, but the size, design, colour and condition of this particular frame is truly outstanding. The beautifully matched bag is made from vintage yellow silk moire fabric, and is a recent construct, the process of matching the frame to a suitable and enhancing fabric being lengthy and very time consuming. The lining is made from vintage black silk. Whether to be worn, certainly a wow factor piece, or to be simply owned and admired, this is a magical piece.
