13th/early 14th C' Sukothai Walking Buddha, 8993

About the Item

All time favorite, and the first Buddha I have not wanted to post for sale in many years, as my heart melted the first time I laid eyes on him and I wanted to claim him for my own. He is the best of Thai sculpture- EARLY (13th/early 14th C) Sukothai Walking Buddha-rounded body with defined buttocks, short, thick well formed limbs lead to elegant yet broad hands and wide thick feet. Later Sukothai sculpture became more remote-this fellow is warm and loving and fully present. His face is sweet and gentle and eager, and being in its orbit creates a clean safe space. Expensive for sure, but rare, very good size, great condition, beautiful, spiritually potent, high sought after type. Measures 26 1/2 inches tall with the base (2 inches tall x 7 1/2 inches across x 8 inches deep). Without the base 24 inches tall x 7 inches across x 6 inches deep. Inventory 8993.
