Group of Three Chinese Han Dynasty Style Gray Pottery Granary Models
About the Item
An attractive group of three high fired gray pottery models of granaries, Han dynasty (206 BC-220 AD) style, and most likely of the period, China.
The granary models of varying cylindrical form, with slightly domed tops and circular openings. The bodies of the tall vessels circumscribed with incised lines. The tallest vessel also with a textured body.
Pottery models such as these were made for tombs as grave goods, ensuring the deceased had all the necessities and comforts to transition to the afterlife comfortably.
