About the Item
This antique umbrella stand is unsigned, but presumed to have originated from Asia, most likely China, and dating to approximately 1900 and done in a period Export style. This hand-crafted umbrella stand is done in a vibrant lead glaze using a mix of turquoise, dark blue and black background with ornate impressed banded decoration around the upper rim and replicated around the base. The front of the umbrella stand is decorated with a series of intricate applied flowers and leaves. This umbrella stand measures just over two feet in height and has substantial weight for its size.
