Chinese Large Craquel Ware Famille Rose Painted Vase
About the Item
A large and impressive Chinese qing craquel ware famille rose hand painted vase with figures dating from the 19th century. The tall bulbous shaped vase stands on a narrow round unglazed foot rim with a recessed base and has three continuous bands painted with figures in various activities set between brown painted incised patterned borders. The scenes are well painted with seated dignatories with attendants and performers in continuous landscape scenes. The scenes are well painted with good detail on a craquel glazed ground. The vase has an incised mark to the base of the vase.
Provenance: Private collection of a Gentleman and acquired from the UK Art Market.
The vase is in good condition with wear associated with age and use and with a very small rim surface chip whicb appears it may have been infilled.
