Chinese Qing Brown Patchwork Glazed Porcelain Snuff Bottle

About the Item

A fine antique Chinese Qing porcelain snuff bottle decorated with underglaze brown patch work designs and dating from the 19th century or earlier. The snuff bottle stands on a narrow oval shape unglazed foot with a flat slightly rounded shaped body and a narrow rounded raised top with an unglazed top rim. The body of the bottle is decorated with chestnut brown colored patches to either side and around the top edge and over decorated in a green brown transparent glaze. The snuff bottle is not marked. A nice example, missing its top and with some age crazing to the thick glazes.
