Japanese Attributed Blanc de Chine Model of a Stylized Dog
About the Item
A fine Japanese attributed Blanc De Chine porcelain model of a amusing stylized dog dating from the early 20th century. This interesting figure is modelled as a seated dog with its tail looped and forming a handle and with an open loop below its chin, probably for attaching something possibly ceremonial. The dog has a mis-proportionate body with a long neck and raised elongated head with molded eyes. The dog has short legs and paws and is decorated in white glazes. The underside is unglazed and the dog is not marked.
