Japanese Blue and White Hand-Painted Porcelain Charger Plate with Peacock Bird

About the Item

A Japanese porcelain charger plate from the 19th century, with hand-painted blue and white blooming tree, flowers, foliage and peacock décor. Created in Japan during the 19th century, this porcelain plate features a delicate blue and white décor depicting a charming scene: in the center of the composition, a blooming tree is sending its angular branches upwards. Its base is surrounded by a lucious décor made of large flowers and leaves. It is the bird in the center however, likely a peacock, that is attracting our attention with the handsome feathers that are composing his tail. The edge is simply highlighted by a blue color and the back is discreetly adorned with flowers. This Japanese hand-painted blue and white porcelain charger plate from the 19th century will make for a lovely addition to any home décor, perhaps placed on a commode, side table or console! The stand used to photograph the plate is not included.
