Majapahit Terracotta Horse on Stand, Java, Indonesia, c. 1500

About the Item

This Majapahit horse is crafted from terracota and is mounted on a stand. It was excavated amongst the shrines of Mount Penganggungan, East Java, Indonesia. Terracotta pottery was an important craft during the Majapahit era. This horse still possesses its engraved facial features and detailing. A wonderful piece of Indonesian history. Dimensions; Height 10 cm x Width 18 cm x Depth 5 cm.
