The elegant design of this 19th century table is inspired by earlier Ming dynasty furniture designs highly prized by collectors. Clean lines, simple humpback stretchers, and a beautifully worn patina only add to the console table's value. The exquisite elmwood table once stood in a Qing-dynasty home in northern China, where it served as a domestic altar for family ancestor worship.
