About the Item
Chinese 19th century lady's chair in original condition is very hard to come by, especially in pairs. Here we have a pair of extraordinary ones in remarkable condition, with fabulous, all original, painted seats depicting plum blossoms and orchids. Back splats with elaborately carved panels of doting mother and children express family love. Pierced carvings of longevity symbols and Ruyi carry out wishes for perpetual happiness and continuous good health. Demure, elegant seats stay true to its purpose. Rare.
