Pair of Chinese Red Gilded Lacquered Bookcase Cabinets from the 18th Century
About the Item
A beautiful and rare pair of 18th century Qing Dynasty bookcase furniture, in fine Chinese elm wood.
Each sturdy piece of furniture has an original thick lacquer and a slightly trapezoidal shape.
The silhouette shows a beautiful dark red lacquer front with pure gold decorations of figures of Chinese dignitaries and pagodas. Beautiful lacquered colors with two boxed doors and fixed panels to the sides and below, a nice frame above and carved finish below giving a sturdy yet elegant look to the cabinet.
The furniture is perfect, it has not undergone restoration.
