Chinese Antique Bronze Hanging Bell with Dragon Phoenix Buddha Decoration

About the Item

A beautifully decorated hanging bell made of bronze casting. Although it is small, it has a detailed design, such as dragon, phoenix, Buddhas and characters. Probably a hanging bell from the Qing period. There were no major scratches. Also, it makes a very nice sound. Things with such a design are very rare. It's a design I haven't seen much. Highly recommended! Bell details: Material: Bronze Height: 20cm Diameter: 14.5cm Weight: 0.8 kg Free shipping worldwide

  • Chinese Ming Iron Bell with Dragon Handle, c. 1600
    Located in Chicago, IL
This monumental Ming-dynasty bell once pealed in a Chinese village, sounding out in celebration or giving notice of important events. Expertly forged, the cast-iron bell is detailed with characters in intricate relief, and its exaggerated scallop rim is traced with oversized rivets. Covered in scales and ending in expressive faces, the bell's handle is cast in the form of a two-headed hong dragon, thought to be the embodiment of a rainbow and thus visible only after rainfall. Frosted with snow or lit from within by flickering candles, this sculptural bell takes on a magical presence in the winter garden.
