Chinese Antique Qianlong Mark Gold Inlay Bronze Teapot

About the Item

An interesting antique Chinese, Qianlong mark bronze teapot with gilded overlay probably dating from the latter 19th century. The teapot is of rounded shape standing on flat rounded base with a a slightly squared off shoulder with raised roundel handle rest applications and with two swing handles. The slightly domed cover sits on a narrow raised top and the teapot has a dragon neck and head formed spout. The body of the teapot is decorated with fine gilding portraying two seated figures to either side with what appears to be money on cords with two young boys catching bats set amidst scroll work and other designs. The cover is also finely decorated and the teapot has a four character gilded mark to the base. In good condition with wear associated with age and use.
