About the Item
Chinese Export Silver Jug or Ewer, profusely decorated with applied bamboo and moths on a plain background. It has a hinged lid, round collet foot, and the handle and finial are formed as sections of branch. Marked with WH, for Wang Hing '宏兴‘ which was the biggest silver retailer in China from the 1860s-1940s, and the most well known and influential. The jug also has the mark of the silversmith, 'Bo’ 伯
