Gilt and Cloisonné Enamel Vase with Handles, Japan, 1950s

About the Item

Cloisonné enameled vase with elephant handles, Japan, mid-20th century. The elegant body form is enhanced with gilt brass rings, separating the different décor areas, and two gilt elephant handles. The piece has a dark rich cinnabar red ground further embellished by polychrome stylized decoration. Resting on a carved wood dark lacquered support. The vase is in very good condition with rich colors and gilt accents, a spot of oxidation inside the neck. Measure: Height including support 44.5 cm [17.5 in.].
