19th Century Chinese Gilt Inkwash Painted Screen

About the Item

This is a singular piece, a framed vintage Chinese gilt and inkwash miniature six-fold paper screen, that was possibly a salesman's sample, and it is beautiful. This is from the late 19th or early 20th century. The screen is six-fold and it depicts various figures in a landscape, within a decorative border, framed with a dark mat in burgundy that makes a stunning contrast against the gilt palette. The series of landscape scenes is intricate and beautifully executed. The piece in its frame measures 2 inches deep and 20 inches high by 33 inches wide. Provenance: acquired from a gallery/dealer Condition: This screen is in a protective frame and is in excellent condition. appears to be in good condition. There are a few small chips to the outside of the frame.
