Antique Asian Screens, Set of Six, Full Size

About the Item

These antique screens feature the classic ice crackle pattern. A symbol of self esteem and purity, the ice crackle motif was a favorite of the ancient scholars. The design is formed by a painstaking process of connecting precisely cut woods via tenons and mortises. Such work is very labor intensive, requires extreme patience and superb artistic skill. Beautiful peonies take the prominent top space symbolizing great prosperity. These panels, with simple installation of hinges, make a splendid screen. Used separately, they make fantastic headboards, elegant room dividers and interior doors. All original. Solid wood. Tenon and mortises. Price is for the entire set of six panels.
