Japanese two panel screen in the style Mori Sosen of two families of Japanese macaques, or snow monkeys, viewing an array of beautiful butterflies and flowers. Edo period, mid 19th century, circa 1850. Sumi-e ink and minimal pigments on mulberry paper with double border in gold and silk brocade. Paloma wood frame. Signed. Dimensions: 51.5" H x 49.5" W.
