This attractive screen dates to the early Taisho period. It is signed Tae. It is beautifully hand painted with a handsome gold natural light background by a skillful artist painter and is signed with inscription and seal in lower right corner: Dimensions: 69 inches high and 113 inches wide extended. This brilliant Heian spring/summer scene features a scene of ladies and Shinto gentlemen harvesting flowers among a sparkling blue river, moutainous green backdrop, and against a rich gold back ground punctuated by cherry trees in full bloom. All pigments on paper. The entirety is framed in black lacquer with bronze enhancements. Smaller size makes this lovely one eminently installable.
