Mughal style miniature painting - gouache on paper with silver highlights - hand painted - depicting a court scene with the Mughal Emperor Jahangir weighing his son, Prince Khurram, as part of his 15th birthday celebration, his weight measured in gold, this sum then dispersed to those in need, with prominently featured jeweled courtiers, all set against a grand display of royal wealth featuring daggers, jewelry, silks, carpets and Chinese porcelains, Persian script to the top - signed lower left (unidentified artist) - contained in a vintage gold gilt reeded frame with double vintage matte boards (Dubai gallery/framer label verso) - India - 20th century.
Excellent vintage condition - painting not viewed outside the frame - strong color - no apparent loss, damage or restoration - vintage gold gilt reeded frame in excellent condition - minor signs of age and use.
