About the Item

A wonderful woodblock print image titled "A Little Temple Gate" by one of Japan's finest 20th-century artists and one of, if not the greatest working artist in the Shin-Hanga movement. Yoshida was the first in a long lineage of renowned family artists. His works can be found in numerous prominent collections and museums worldwide. This work exhibits the coveted Jizuri Seal indicating that it was printed in his lifetime. This work, printed in 1933, is from Yoshida's Kansai District, Japan series. The lifetime edition print is as clean an impression and state as you will ever find and displays a very deep, rich color. The woodblock print is pencil signed titled and displays his brushed sumi ink "Yoshida" signature and is sealed with his red "Hiroshi" seal within the image. Dimensions: 16" H, 10.5" W
