Old Japanese Scholar's Stone / Beautiful Appreciation Stone/Natural Stone
About the Item
This is a stone mined in Japan. Measure: w 22cm.
Not only in China but also in Japan from ancient times, rocks in the mountains have been shaved and stones for viewing have been quarried.
Such stones for appreciation are collectively called "suiseki".
Suiseki means "water" and "stone".
The name comes from the fact that I enjoyed pouring water on the stones and changing the color of the stones.
And this item is also Suiseki, but it is for viewing without splashing water.
This is probably considered to be a stone called "Shiko-seki".
It is one of the stones produced in the Abe River in Shizuoka Prefecture.
It is a natural stone that has not been processed.
It is characterized by a mixture of colors such as green, blue, purple, and red.
Other characteristics of the stone are that the surface is rough and hard.
It is a type of tuff.
This stone is also a marble-patterned rock containing green and red.
It is very attractive and I never get tired of looking at it.
The pedestal is also made to match this stone and has a beautiful curved pedestal.
Probably made after 1950.
Since it is small, it can be placed anywhere in the room. How about displaying it in your entryway or living room?
It is very difficult to find such an attractive stone.
It is a recommended item.
