Rare Chinese Alms Jade Globular Shape Bowl with Relief Panels of Fruit

About the Item

A quite rare 18-19th century Chinese hand carved globular shape alms jade bowl, hand carved with relief panels of sacred fruit. With a beautiful celadon color, this jade bowl has been beautifully hand carved with exceptional craftsmanship. Each side has a different panel with reliefs of sacred fruit, which includes Peaches, Buddha's hand, and Pomegranates. The peaches symbolize immortality, the Buddha’s hand symbolize long life and happiness, and the pomegranates symbolize sanctity, fertility, and abundance. A trifecta of sacred fruit exemplifies the importance of this bowl. Fabulously hand carved and hand-polished. China, circa 18th-19th century.
