A Thai hand carved lacquered wood sculpture from the 18th century depicting a seated monk. Created in Thailand during the 18th century, this carved statue features a serene seated monk with his hands resting on his knees, his feet to the side. The monk is wearing a traditional Thai coat and is seated on a lotus-shaped stand. Made of lacquered wood, this sculpture has a reddish brown patina.
