About the Item
Japanese Hearth Hook “Jizai Kogi” repurposed as Sculpture
Beautifully executed craftsmanship showing rope marks from being suspended from ceiling beam. It held a kettle over a fire which created the wonderful patina over many years of use. Rope marks at top and in middle (from hanging from ceiling beam).
Carved from a single piece of Keyaki Wood with faceted edging. A great artistic sculpture in a traditional or modern home.
Meiji meets Modern with respect to both (periods).
The custom Iron Stand allows it to be positioned for best viewing.
Overall dimensions with stand : depth 8" Width 13.75" height 21.5"
