Hand-Carved, Polychromed Panel with from Madura Island, Java, Indonesia, c. 1900

About the Item

A wonderfully hand-carved wooden panel with floral motifs from the Indonesian island of Madura, off the coast of eastern Java. This decorative panel once adorned a traditional Madura house. Carved from teak wood the panel still retains its original turquoise polychrome finish. The wood has aged beautifully over the years. The panel is ready to be wall mounted with wall hanging screws to secure a wire on the back side.
