Fine Pair (2) Quails In A Monumental Size Japan, a fine huge pair 2) of antique quail sculpture hand-carved and red lacquered, Taisho period. Fine old carvings with traces of aged red lacquer. Each body carved from one block of wood in Mingei style. Beautiful mingei (Japan art of the people) Folk Art forms. Notice the carved feathers, heads and feet- wonderful artistic carver's touches! Fine condition for age and with an original silky smooth patina Dimensions: Largest is 20.5 Inches tall and 24 Inches in length and 17 Inches depth, 60 pounds Handmade and hand-carved.
