Vintage Chinese 1920s Collector's Box Set of Eight Jade Stallions

About the Item

This vintage set of Chinese hand carved jade stallions dates from the 1920s and presents in the original box. Each individual jade stallion has been preserved within its own silk cushion pocket. There are four such pockets in a top tray and four in a bottom tray, fitting snugly within the original box. Each hand carved jade animal is beautifully executed in its own unique pose. Additionally, each stallion may display on its own included teak stand. These hand carved jade figures are approximately 4" long x 3" tall x 3/4" wide, varying some secondary to pose. The teak stands measure 1" tall x 1" wide x 3 1/2" long and have similar variances. These stands are highly polished dark teak and feature fitted indentations for their stallions hooves. The jade varies from dark spinach to celadon colors. Seven of the jade figures are in perfect condition. The eighth has a professional repair of the front hooves. The original brown fabric covered box with bone locks measures 14 1/4" long x 13 3/4" wide x 6 1/4" tall and bears its original label from the Republic of China.
