Metallic gold brocade maxi dress kaftan handmade by Moroccan artist. Handmade vintage exotic 1970s gold metallic brocade ceremonial caftan gown from North Africa, Morocco. The luminous brocade fabric shimmers with allover golden shine. This maxi dress caftan is made in a subtle metallic floral patterned brocade with shades of gold and green, with running down the centre round braided buttons from the neckline to the hemline. Princess seams, fully front hand-knotted looped buttons side pockets. Great as a chic maxi dress can be worn buttoned up or left open. The caftan is perfect for a man or woman. Dress measurement flat: Shoulder 15" (seam to seam) Sleeve 24" (shoulder seam to cuff) Chest 21" (armpit to armpit) Waist 24" (narrowest point) Hip 29" (measured 6" below waist) Total length 59" (centre back to hem; excluding collar) Hand crafted by Moroccan artist designer, this is a one of a kind caftan, inspired by the tales of Middle Eastern Princess of the Arabian Nights. The Kaftan is a long and wide tunic, collarless, long-sleeved, worn by man and women. The exotic elegance of the Moroccan kaftans inspired European and global designers as Yves Saint Laurent, Valentino, and many more who made the caftan famous in the 1960s and 1970s. Handmade by master seamstresses and Moroccan artist designer who specialize in the fine detail of Moroccan embroidery. Moroccan gold trims (sfifa). One of a kind caftan, inspired by the tales of princess of the Arabian Nights. Condition: Excellent Fits medium to large size.

    Visually striking vintage Uchikake Wedding Kimono/Robe for ceremonial occasion, circa end of Meiji to Taisho period 1910s-1930s. This bridal outer garment is of a white and red color that features elaborate and intricate embroidery in gold and red threads. Using brilliant colored and gold threads, the artisan decorated the kimono with the most auspicious symbols including flying phoenix, blooming peonies, fans, maple branches, and wisteria flowers. They form roundel motifs in a highly elaborate layout, especially striking when viewed from the back. The interior of the kimono is also padded with red fabric and weighted down at the bottom trim. The item is larger than life-size and somewhat heavy and is meant for ceremonial use only. This beautiful artisan hand-crafted piece can be displayed as wall art or on a stand as a sculpture.
