Exceptional attr. Edward F. Caldwell & Co. Silvered Bronze Andiron Pair

About the Item

The pair of neoclassical vasiform silvered bronze andirons with tall artichoke finials, circa 1910-1920. Overall egg-and-dart relief on the bulbous top and base. Shield motifs decorate the upper bulbous section. Mounted with an acanthus scrolled plaque, in one piece with the scrolled bases decorated with leafy scrolled panels with faux tassels on the sides. Raised on relief egg-and-dart form feet, linked by ribbon and tassel motifs. Condition: The overall condition is quite good with expected acceptable wear, primarily tarnishing with a stately and impressive presentation.
