French Louis XIV Period Andirons or Firedogs, 17th Century

About the Item

17th century French Louis XIV andirons. The andirons are made of bronze and wrought iron. They have a typical Louis XIV design which was popular during the 17th century. In France they are called marmousets, which means jesters, professional jokers or “fools” at a medieval court. The condition is good.
