Important English 18th Century Statuary and Sienna Marble Fireplace
About the Item
A very rare and important English 18th century (circa 1760) statuary and sienna marble fireplace with highly detailed carved centre tablet of classical figures. The jambs comprise full round tapered Sienna columns surmounted by Doric capitals. The shelf is carved with leaf, egg and dart moulding. Truly one of a kind.

The moulded shelf, carved with dentils and Egg & Dart, breaks forward above the central tablet and square corner blocks.
