Great, sculptural stair newel post from the 1800s.
This unique newel post and pedestal is beautifully and richly carved all around. Most impressive on this newel post are the realistic and fierce looking lion heads that are literally carved out of what once was the trunk of a small tree. This great looking and antique original newel post can also be used as Stand for a bust, a vase or a plant. It comes with many more impressive elements and it has a wonderful patina. Whatever you use this Stand for and wherever it will be placed, this rich and impressive work of art will instantly change the look and feel of the space it is in.
