Door Stop Cast Iron, Victorian Lion Serpent Original Green Red Gold

About the Item

Victorian, cast iron, door stop with a lion & a serpent, retaining original green, red & gold paint, 11 ¼” high Rare doorstop, representing protection against temptation. The lion amongst foliage baring his teeth and looking up at the serpent who is interwined in foliage above him, his body creating a handle. Original paint with loses to the red in particular around the base and top. Provenance : Private collection Pricing: £1,000 Measures: Height 28.5cm, 11 ¼“ Length 19cm, 7 ½" Depth 6cm, 2 ¼ “.
