M H Baillie Scott. An Exceptional Set of Arts & Crafts Exterior / Interior Doors

About the Item

M H Baillie Scott, Attributed. An exceptional set of four Arts and Crafts exterior doors. Selling as two individual pairs. With further interior doors available separately. A superior architectural design in the Glasgow style with stylized rose and floral stained glass panels to the upper sections. The first pair in the images have stylized decorative cast iron hinges, this pair would work well in so many instances ie for a summer house, a workshop garage etc. They are made from pitch pine and are something to behold when viewed in person. The stain glass panels were probably made by McCullock and Co of Glasgow. The quality of these doors are exceptional, a little thicker than usual doors, and could also be used as secondary exterior security doors. The other pair both with large cast-iron wheels to the top. This pair requires a simple long steel channel that would need to be made to accept the upper wheels, and would be best made on-site. That channel once made would then fix to the wall above the door openings, and the iron wheels in turn would slot into the iron channel, so the doors actually hang from the channel so they can then slide smoothly apart to open or close. This pair was originally removed from an Arts and Crafts garage. As well as these two pairs of workshop/garage doors, there are 17 standard size internal and external doors, these 17 do not have stained glass panels but many have a single upper central glass pane, as shown in the last image. They could have stained glass made for them to match. Four doors are painted white and one is a staircase cupboard door with a triangle cut to the top (not shown). You could build a house around these doors. The remaining 17 interior doors are available separately at £850 each. The set consists of including measurements:- Two large sliding barn/garage doors with iron wheels Height 86.5 inches or 220 cm. Extension of the iron wheels Height 8 1/4 inches or 21 cm Total height of doors with iron wheel extensions height 94 3/4 or 240 cm Width 35 1/2 inches or 90 cm x 2. Thickness 2 1/4 inches or 6cm. Two large doors matching above with fabulous iron hinges with heart details. They both have a male and female rebated side opposite the hinges to close into each other. Height 86.5 inches or 220 cm. Overall Width 69 1/4” or 176 cm . (This is the width when they are closed together). Thickness 2 1/4" or 6 cm Smaller internal doors differ slightly in measurements.
