Moroccan Double Doors with Silver Overlay, Bone Inlays, & Stained Glass, c. 1960
About the Item
Spectacular Moroccan doorway with paneled double doors. One-of-a-kind palace craftsmanship featuring intricate and ornamented metal work with Moorish motifs on both sides of the doors. The ebonized wood frame has silver metal overlays with hand-carved metal work, fitted with inlays of camel bone and semi-precious stones. Top of the doorway features a transom window with overlays of copper metal and stained glass in blue and green, and with blue gemstone accents. Both sides of the doors feature gilded door knockers in the shape of a hand and brass latches with incised motifs. This architectural treasure can be used as a functioning door, or as an accent piece.
