Pair of Large Bronze Door Handles in the Shape of Shells
About the Item
A set of two very large bronze door handles in the shape of seashells. 20th century, European.
The handles are impressive pieces, each of the same organic design, which can be turned to use on the left or right as required. Cast to include the bracket, with lots of nice detail in the texture to show the hand-crafting process. The pieces are in good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear, and a deep brown patina - with gold and green tones from handling and age - which we have left as found; for us the colours are best seen in images 2 and 12-15.

H: 28.5cm
W: 21.5cm
D: 6.5cm
The fixing bracket is approximately 24cm x 3cm. The fixing holes are around 20cm apart (centre to centre) and the holes lie around 2-2.5cm in from the edge of the handle.
The handles are installed through the two holes in each bracket using bolts (not supplied) to suit the thickness of your door and the weight of the metal. These are large, heavy pieces and suitable installation will be required.
