Two Pairs of Very Large Architectural Palatial French Walnut Doors

About the Item

Two pairs of matching French walnut interior doors retaining all of the original gorgeous French bronze hardware. These striking tall double pairs of doors wear their age with grace, and are in great shape. One side of one of the pairs of doors is painted an early ivory color. The beautiful size and patina would bring character and intrigue to any doorway. They also work remarkably well as accent pieces, taking bare corners and turning them into an eye catching gateway to the past. Each pair has a slightly narrower door and a larger door; to allow for closure etc. – neither set is bigger than the other. The only difference is that one pair is painted on the back. H doors 91” x W larger (in each pair) doors 42-44”” x W narrower doors (in each pair) 21-22” x D doors with knobs 4-5” x D door without knobs 1” #3992.

  • Pair of Massive Antique Salvaged Architectural Doors with Arches
    Located in Round Top, TX
This magnificent pair of huge wood doors originally served as a large gate in Southern Hungary, likely Szeged. Note the dramatic carved arched crown and Corinthian columns that accent the massive paneled and carved doors; with all these elements combined this pair absolutely commands attention. In 19th century Hungary, the original home owner of these doors had a farm out in the country and a house in the village. When they brought agricultural goods to town, this gate was wide enough for a hay wagon to enter while the door on the right (with handle) opened for individuals. Old vintage doors...
