About the Item
Beautiful 'Phoenix' fireback. With the text: "Flames sont des fleurs ou il representative ma vie" (Flames are flowers that bring me back to life). Cast in the Saint-Claire foundry in Villerupt, Lorraine, between 1680 and 1710.
The fireback has a black / pewter patina. The fireback is in good condition and has no cracks.
